I spent some time playing with iStory because it seems like an interesting concept. While many of us are familiar with either Frotz or grew with Choose-Your-Own-Adventure-Books, iStory tries to take it one step further by getting everyone out there to submit their own stories. I went through several of the items that are already up in iStory, most notably Zombie Madness, and admittedly if you expecting anything deep, this story would not be it. But, it make for some entertainment in terms of choosing your next steps. I think iStory has potential that will depend heavily on developing a community where people will submit their stories. Frotz is a great example of this, but iStory has a more user friendly interface. The dev has created a Web site which is also accessible through iStory that provides a venue for people to share their stories. Its an intriguing concept because these days, the art of writing or just even reading a book seem to have fallen by the wayside. Itd be kind of nice if iStory could be one of the catalysts for bringing people back to writing and reading. My suggestion to the dev is to build the community by focusing on schools initially which is where the art of writing begins, and getting kids interested in writing. As for adults, the message should center around how everyone has a story or fantastic world in their mind to tell, and iStory is the place to do that.
